Q: What is the difference between “perennial” and “annual” — it’s always so confusing?
A: Perennial literally means “through the years” — as in the plants live more than one season. Once you plant a perennial that is correctly zoned for the northern Indiana climate, you shouldn’t have to worry about replanting it again, unless some other force of nature interrupts its plans for returning each spring. Annuals, on the other hand, are plants that cannot survive our brutal winters — so they must be replanted every year (annually). Some annuals will come up again from seed, if you let the plant flowers produce seeds. The great thing about planting annuals is that you can change your mind on placement, color, or variety to suit your whim!

Q: Aside from landscape plans, installations and lawn maintenance, what else do you do?
